Some places carry an obvious responsibility: they deserve to be protected.
Set within a remarkable natural environment, on the edge of the Algarvensis Geopark – a territory recognised within the network of UNESCO-supported Global Geoparks – our home reflects a sustainable vision in which elegance, nature and responsibility coexist in quiet harmony.
Our ambition was not simply to restore the property, but to create a place designed to endure: preserving its beauty, reducing its impact and offering an experience that is both authentic and deeply peaceful in the heart of the Algarve countryside.
AN ESTATE DESIGNED TO LAST
Behind the apparent simplicity of the house lies a carefully considered energy design.
Enhanced insulation, high-efficiency heat pumps, low-energy lighting and high-performance equipment significantly reduce the use of fossil fuels. The abundant sunshine of the Algarve plays a central role in this approach, contributing to hot water production, energy supply (currently being expanded) and, in time, a largely solar-powered autonomy.
The technology remains discreet and largely invisible, quietly serving comfort and balance throughout the estate.
RespectING WHAT MATTERS MOST : WATER
In our region, water is precious, and we treat it accordingly.
Rainwater is collected and stored in a 200 m³ cistern, irrigation is carefully managed, and plant species are selected for their natural adaptation to the local climate, requiring little or no watering. This thoughtful management helps preserve natural resources while maintaining the vitality of the gardens and the surrounding landscape of the Algarve countryside.
Sustainability here is integrated, natural and discreet.
A LIVING ECOSYSTEM
The property blends into its natural surroundings while limiting unnecessary transformation. Ancient cork oaks, holm oaks, carob trees and olive trees coexist with newly planted fruit trees such as orange, lemon and mango trees.
The gardens favour native species, organic cultivation and a thoughtful approach to treatments. Nature here is not merely decorative: it is alive, free and respected within the preserved landscapes of the inland Algarve.
CONSCIOUS CONSUMPTION
Sustainability is also expressed through attention to detail.
Waste sorting, progressive composting, reduced waste, environmentally certified cleaning products whenever possible, and responsible linen management form part of a discreet yet essential approach that helps limit our environmental footprint without compromising comfort for guests staying at the estate.
A STRONG CONNECTION WITH THE REGION
Sustainability is also human.
Organic products, short supply chains, partnerships with local producers and artisans, and the discovery of the region all contribute to creating a deeper connection with the people, the land and the culture that shape the Algarve region. Staying here means entering into a relationship with a territory and the life that animates it.
A GENTLER WAY TO EXPLORE
Exploring the region can also be done differently, in harmony with the landscape.
Walking, the ever-present nature and a slower rhythm of mobility invite guests to rediscover the territory with balance and respect. An electric vehicle charging station is currently under construction, further supporting a more sustainable way of travelling across the Algarve countryside.
